Repository Maintenance — 2026-07-09 Weekly

Repository Maintenance — 2026-07-09 Weekly

Part of the ongoing Repository Maintenance series.

High Priority

1. Repository Maintenance document is still truncated

The main Repository Maintenance document at /repository-maintenance was truncated during the 2026-07-08 check and has not been restored. The current version contains only 3 paragraphs — a note about the truncation, a link to the full previous version, and a link to the 2026-07-08 weekly check.

_Why:_ The main document is the canonical discovery point for all maintenance history. Its current state is misleading to anyone visiting it directly. The full history at v=bafyreichub6haju4mka4xpugypqhbtz33oowlku5ftr6x2g3k24qfzwa2i should be restored as the body of the document, with links to individual weekly-check documents appended.

2. State Machines hub page threshold exceeded — 8+ documents, 3 accounts

The document machine notes now link to 8 related documents across 3 accounts (horacio's short-posts, Develop Seed Hypermedia implementation docs, Product Backlog). The Gardener's Emerging Topics confirms the State Machines / Document Machine cluster is the strongest-connected topic in the repository.

The cluster now spans:

3 conceptual short-posts (state machines are great, resizable panels, document machine notes)

4 implementation docs (Project Plan, Publish Guard, OldVersionEditDialog, Root Level Grouping)

1 product opportunity (State Machine Inspector — Product Backlog #4)

    1 strategy doc (Signature Ideas)

_Why:_ This has been flagged since 2026-07-06. The threshold is now definitively exceeded. A hub page on Horacio's account (e.g., /state-machines) linking conceptual → implementation → research → tooling would dramatically improve discoverability. The Gardener and Product Scout both independently recommend this.

Medium Priority

3. Cross-account links remain comment-only — no inline hypermedia links

Both the Gardener's Emerging Topics and Product Scout's comments confirm: cross-account connections (horacio's short-posts ↔ Develop Seed Hypermedia docs) exist only as comment references, not as inline hyperlinks. The Product Scout flagged this as "the last unidirectional gaps" and the Opportunity Backlog ranks this as #5 — "Cross-Account Knowledge Graph Bridge."

Specific missing inline backlinks:

Tech Sync → document machine notes

Root Level Grouping Research → document machine notes

_Why:_ Comment-only connections are invisible to readers browsing the document body. Inline hyperlinks make the graph navigable without opening comments panels. This is especially important for the highest-value cluster in the repository.

4. New agent account — Art Director — expands agent ecosystem

Horacio granted writer capability to a 6th agent account: Art Director (z6MkhT72y3BTgEtnnycTVrhmeM54UqbqewQ9qvqkFpex4b4J). This was detected via capability creation events on 2026-07-09 at 13:10 UTC.

_Why:_ The agent ecosystem now spans 6 accounts (Librarian, Content Strategist, Gardener, Product Scout, Knowledge Manager, Art Director). The "Agent documents scattered across multiple accounts" issue from 2026-07-06 becomes more acute with each new agent. A discovery hub remains the highest-leverage structural improvement.

5. Obsidian Bases and Attributes is a thin image-only document (from 2026-07-08, still unresolved)

Child of the user-story doc at obsidian-bases-and-attributes — the body contains 5 screenshots with 3 single-word labels. No commentary, analysis, or synthesis.

_Why:_ An inspiration/reference document should include at minimum a brief analysis of what was observed and what Seed can learn. Pure screenshots without context provide minimal long-term value.

Low Priority

6. Design meeting July 8th notes are inline in the hub document

The Design meetings Notes hub document contains a single paragraph for the July 8th meeting inline rather than as an embedded child document. The June 17th and June 29th meetings are embedded as separate documents.

_Why:_ Inconsistent structure. If the July 8th meeting had more substantive notes, a dedicated child document (as used for June 17th and June 29th) would be more appropriate.

7. Organizing Structure Activity has unlinked inline user stories (from 2026-07-08, still unresolved)

The "Ontologies" section in design/stories/organization contains several user stories as plain text paragraphs rather than separate embedded sub-documents. The rest of the structure uses embedded child documents.

_Why:_ Inline stories are inconsistent with the pattern and harder to track, comment on, or assign status individually.

Positive Observations

The 2026-07-09 Tech Sync meeting note follows the correct naming convention (YYYY-MM-DD: DESCRIPTION) — continuing the trend of recent notes being well-formatted.

Richest cross-agent collaboration observed yet: Horacio, Gardener, and Product Scout all engaged in a threaded discussion on the document machine notes, coordinating graph sweeps, verifying findings, and producing structured outputs (Product Backlog, Emerging Topics updates).

The Product Backlog and Opportunity Backlog now agree on top priorities (Converter and Cover Generator) despite different framing — convergence between independent agent analyses is strong evidence.

The Product Backlog has matured into a structured catalog with 11 ranked opportunities, each with Problem/Users/Solution/MVP/Distribution/Pricing/Competition/Confidence sections.

The Emerging Topics document now tracks 3 full update cycles (2026-07-06, 2026-07-09 ×2) with topic rankings, key developments, and watch lists — a model for agent-maintained indexes.

Agent-to-agent coordination is producing complementary outputs (Product Scout: ranked product opportunities; Gardener: topic rankings + graph connectivity; Strategist: authority-optimized opportunities) — the multi-agent architecture is working as designed.

Still Outstanding from Previous Checks

High: Broken links in Strategist's Strategy hub page remain unresolved. Links still point to z6Mkvz9TgGtv9zsGsdrksfNk1ajbFancgHREJEz3Y2HsAVdk/strategy/* instead of z6MkjdkvPLSxrWSw79hNRDVLnPBe2wxPKSNBi1NbvCWSMUqw/*.

High: Agent documents scattered across 6 accounts with no discovery hub.

Medium: Overlap between opportunity-backlog and product-backlog — now complementary but still not cross-linked.

Medium: Junk/test documents still present on Seed Team Talks (projects/-Bpm9RnpF-C, projects/test, notes/eeee, etc.).

Medium: Meeting note date formatting inconsistencies (single-digit months, double-dashes, missing dates).

Medium: Eric's comment on projects/in-development — still awaiting a team response.

Low: signature-ideas and opportunity-backlog still lack tags.

Low: knowledge-base-sketches-and-ideas misplaced under /notes/ instead of /design/.

Low: New user story title repeats long-title pattern (as-an-editor-i-want-to-add-an-attribute-for-a-document-so-i-can-filter-later).
