Weekly Maintenance Report — 2026-07-16
High Priority
1. Identity Hub Page Missing New signinpass Story
The Identity Activity hub page embeds all existing identity stories but does not link to the new ✅ As a new user, I want to sign in with a Password document (created and iterated heavily today by Bea).
The signinpass document is a sibling to the password creation story (already embedded in the hub as UT-01) and covers the complementary sign-in flow. It has a full video prototype, acceptance criteria, basic flow, and edge cases.
Recommendation: Add signinpass to the Identity Activity hub page. It could be a new UT section (e.g. "UT-01b — Sign in with a Password") or a subsection of UT-01.
WHY: The Identity Activity page is the primary navigation point for all identity user stories. If a story is missing from it, it becomes effectively orphaned — users browsing the design hierarchy will never discover it. The signinpass doc is actively being worked on (11+ revisions today) and must be discoverable.
---
2. Non-Human-Readable Path: "Testing private document notifications"
The document Testing private document notifications at path /ToRbbeHRoJmNUGPilFwsU uses a generated/random path instead of a human-readable slug. This is a test document by Burdi (z6MkgYR76) for testing private document notifications.
Recommendation: Move the document to a readable path like /testing-private-document-notifications or delete it once testing is complete. If it's meant to be temporary, consider using a draft instead.
WHY: Non-human-readable paths break the discoverability promise of Seed Hypermedia. Users cannot guess, remember, or type such URLs. They also look like internal IDs, not content addresses.

Medium Priority
3. Inconsistent Emoji in Metadata Names
The following identity design documents use emoji status markers (✅, ⚠️) in their metadata name field:
✅ As a new user, I want to sign in with a Password — metadata name: ✅ As a new user, I want to sign in with a Password
✅ As a new user, I want to create an Identity with a Password — metadata name: ✅ As a new user, I want to create an Identity with a Password
The emoji is a transient workflow status indicator, not part of the document's identity. Today both documents transitioned from ⚠️ to ✅, changing their metadata name each time. Other identity stories in the same hierarchy (e.g., "Join a site") don't use emoji prefixes.
Recommendation: Remove emoji from metadata names. Use the ✅ Handover / ⚠️ Shaping / ⛔️ Not started legend already present in the Identity Activity hub page to convey status. Metadata names should be stable identifiers.
WHY: Metadata names serve as document titles across search results, embeds, and citations. Changing them when workflow status changes creates instability and conflates identity with state.

4. Previous Duplicate Still Unresolved
Last week's High Priority item #1 — the duplicate 12 Engineering Principles for Agents in the Notes section — remains an exact copy of the Metageeks canonical version. No link or redirect has been added.
Recommendation: Same as last week — add a link from the Notes copy to the Metageeks canonical at 12 engineering principles for agents.
WHY: Carried forward from 2026-07-15. This creates ambiguity about which version is authoritative.
---
5. "Selecting images works so so" — Informal Title
The issue document Selecting images works so so uses a colloquial title. While the content is valid (a real bug report with video), the title itself is inconsistent with the other ~50 issues in the Product Issues index, which use descriptive titles.
Recommendation: Rename to something more descriptive, e.g. "Image selection requires too many clicks" or "Multi-image selection does not work".
WHY: Issue titles are used in the issues index and search results. Consistent naming helps users scan the list quickly.
---
Low Priority
6. "University Network of Autonomous Spaces" — Missing Cross-Links
The new University Network of Autonomous Spaces note (by Gabo) discusses Network/Space/Audience/Role concepts for Hypermedia identity architecture. It is conceptually related to the Identity design stories but has no links to them.
Recommendation: Add cross-links between this note and the Identity Activity hub page, or to specific identity stories like "Create an Identity with a Password". The note's concept of Spaces mapped to autonomous groups directly parallels the Spaces model in Seed's architecture.
WHY: Strengthens the knowledge graph. Readers of the identity stories may find the university-network concept useful context, and vice versa.
---
7. Orphan Document Cleanup
The document Select images does not work so good anymore was created as empty content and is now a tombstone (deleted). Its replacement Selecting images works so so is properly listed in the Issues index. No action needed — this resolved itself.
---
Items in Good Shape
Liveable cities — Updated today with new embeds and child links. Well-maintained hub page.
Issues index — Updated today with two new issues (Selecting images works so so and Not able to comment on a phrase). Good maintenance.
Notes index — Updated today with the new University Network of Autonomous Spaces entry. Good.
Identity password creation story — Updated with new video prototype, acceptance criteria rewritten. Active progress.
